Dr. Gordon Lim qualified M.B.B.S. from Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London in 1975. He completed his housemanship in UK before returning to be a medical officer in the Singapore Armed Forces from 1977- 1979. Dr. Lim subsequently qualified as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, UK ( M.R.C.O.G ) in 1982. He held various posts in the University Dept of the Kandang Kerbau Hospital before setting up his own private practice in 1985. Dr. Lim has more than 35 years of experience both as an obstetrician and gynaecologist. He was conferred Fellow of the Royal College Obstetricians and Gynaecologists ( F.R.C.O.G. ) in 2003. He is author of numerous papers and a book, “Nine Months and Counting”
Dr.Lim’s key interests are in advanced antenatal care and minimal invasive laparoscopic lazer surgery. He was among the first obstetricians to introduce routine ultrasound scanning in Singapore in the 1980’s. He was also among the first to use the 3 and 4D scanning machines when they became available and this is now standard practice in his management of pregnant patients. When minimal invasive or key hole surgery was first used in gynaecology, Dr. Lim was also among the first to introduce this procedure for the treatment of fibroids, ovarian cysts, infertility etc in Singapore in the 1980’s. His experience with this modality of treatment runs into several thousand cases treating the most simple to the most complex .
